Age Regression Images

As many of you know, Sarah does not have any photos of herself when she was younger. A forensic imaging company used current photos of Sarah and "age regression" techniques to make composite images of what Sarah may have looked like when she was younger. What do you think?!?!?!? Here is what they believe she may have looked like at the ages of 3, 5 and 8.

Girl Shopping Sunday

This is how today started -- lazy, just like we like it! But in the afternoon I was treated to a 'spa' treatment to "young" me up some! Sarah updated my hair, make-up and slapped one of her cute hats on my old lady head! Now, if she could only do something about my creaking bones!

We went out for our traditional "girl shopping" Sunday but started off with a stop at Freddy's which is fast becoming Sarah's favorite place to eat. Then we were off to the mall! Quite a grand day indeed!

A Picture is Worth a Billion Words

This week is our 1-1/2 year "family day"! Over the past 1-1/2 years we've had lots of people who are interested in hearing about Sarah's story. Recently, Sarah has been the one interested in hearing "her" story -- or should I say the story of how Kevin and I came to meet her.

We've told her the story of how I was at the National Cornbread Cook-off when we first read about her on the computer. We've told her that we did not see any photos of her but only had written words to pour over when we decided to request to be considered to be her parents. And we've told her how we knew one million billion percent that she was meant to be our daughter. Meant to be -- that really sums it up.

While we had only words describing Sarah before submitting our paperwork, after we were matched the orphanage asked Sarah if she would like to send us any photos to describer herself. She said she wanted to take photos to show us "who she was." I look back now that those four photos and then I think about the girl who has been my daughter for 1-1/2 years and I just grin from ear to ear. The four photos she sent are EXACTLY the kid she is!

So, what can you tell from these?

Big Bear Hugs

We had a GREAT Valentine's Day -- or should I say Valentine's week!

Throughout the week Sarah received cards, candy and goodies from family and friends along with the Taylor Swift cds and some cute new pjs from us. On Valentine's Day she wanted to go out and use her Valentine's money for something "special" she had in mind. We wouldn't find out until later that what she wanted was fuzzy and 4 foot tall!!

THANKS everyone!!!!

The Cat Learns Pre-Algebra

Just a few cute photos from tonight. Sarah was working on her pre-algebra homework and Meo the cat decided to crawl into her backpack! He poked his head out and seemed really interesting in learning about the metric system. But when it came time to move from math to drafting he lost interest and went to take a nap elsewhere.

On a funny (and kind of sad) note, this pre-algebra lesson included a blurb about using metrics with laser technology. You might be interested to know that in the 1990s (yes, you're reading that right -- 1990s) there is PROJECTED to be a 30% increase in the number of jobs for laser technicians available. "Projected" indicating the 1990s are in the FUTURE. Now, I realize pre-algebra doesn't change all that much over time, but do we really have to wonder why our kids don't always get the best information?!?!?!? How old is this book!??!?!?
